Vitamin D3 medicine available in Malta

Altavita is indicated for the prevention and treatment of Vitamin D Deficiency*.

Prevention of Vitamin D Deficiency

Altavita 25,000 iu soft capsules are licensed for the prevention of Vitamin D Deficiency. The recommended dose is 1 x Altavita 25,000 iu soft capsule monthly.

Treatment of Vitamin D Deficiency

Altavita 25,000 iu soft capsules are licensed for the treatment of Vitamin D Deficiency. The recommended dose is 2 x Altavita 25,000 iu soft capsules per week for 6 – 8 weeks

Altavita is also licensed as an adjunct to specific therapy for osteoporosis in patients with Vitamin D deficiency or at risk of Vitamin D insufficiency

Altavita is a licensed prescription only medicine

Vitamin D supplements that can be bought in a pharmacy are manufactured to different standards than prescription-only medicines. You can be sure with a prescription-only medicine such as Altavita D3 25,000 IU soft capsules, that the medicine will provide a consistent amount of vitamin D at the quantity specified on the pack.1,2
