Hi! My name is Sonny. . .
I am an astronaut. It is very important that I look after my bones as I travel through space.
I would like to tell you about Vitamin D and how important it is for your bones.
Vitamin D is made by your body when the sun shines on your skin. This is why Vitamin D is sometimes called the "sunshine vitamin".
We also get vitamin D from food such as fish, eggs and supermilk
Your body needs vitamin D to build strong bones and to keep your bones healthy.
If you do not have enough vitamin D your bones can become weak and soft now or when you are an adult.
Hi! My name is Suzi. . .
I'm here to tell you all about your medicine Altavita D3.
Altavita D3 is a vitamin D medicine. Your doctor will tell you if your body is not making enough vitamin D and if you need to take a vitamin D medicine.
You might need to take a vitamin D medicine:
Your doctor has asked you to take Altavita to make sure you have enough vitamin D to build strong bones and to keep your bones healthy
It is very important that you take your Altavita in the way that your doctor has asked.
You should not take more Altavita than your doctor has asked.
You can squeeze the medicine from the bottle into your mouth or onto a spoon. You can also ask an adult to mix it with some milk, yogurt or lukewarm food.
If you do not like taking your medicine you can ask an adult to mix it with some milk, yogurt or food that is a little warm.
