Hi! My name is Sonny. . .

I am an astronaut. It is very important that I look after my bones as I travel through space.
I would like to tell you about Vitamin D and how important it is for your bones.

Vitamin D is made by your body when the sun shines on your skin. This is why Vitamin D is sometimes called the “sunshine vitamin”.

We also get vitamin D from food such as fish, eggs and supermilk.

Your body needs vitamin D to build strong bones and to keep your bones healthy. If you do not have enough vitamin D your bones can become weak and soft now or when you are an adult.
